I think it is actually a good sign.thanks guys for responding.
ThanksI am 50 and my hair started thinning andfacial hair(embarassing! I started using Rogaine about 3 weeks ago since I am trying everything possible but is not the smartest since I won’t know which one will work. So, I started with a family physician and had blood work done. I don’t know if this is true, I don’t know if you can “build up a tolerance” to birth control and as such have your hormones freak out.
I think next week i’m going to try the spiro, it’s only a 25 mg dose. I did however notice an increase in hair shedding. I remember running across the info commercial about battling hair loss (hair club) and for some reason it was intuition of some sort that I completely wanted to ignore that commercial or even joke about it and dismiss it but something inside before there were any signs of trouble I knew (but really didn’t) that I would deal with something like this one day, sort of like a premonition little voice inside that you sometimes dismiss. I may consider going off of it. I’m going to Dr. Redmond’s next week! I stopped propecia a month ago and starting to notice mild shedding. This is primarily produced by the hormone ESTROGEN. As a diuretic, some additional fluid output is expected but my experience was overwhelming. I’m now seeing an endocrinologist and is taking spironolactone (i think it’s the generic label) since May this year.
Thanks again. He’s a doll! Plus it’s less strain on the hair rather than pulling it tight.I’m actually different, I tie it back all day because I get bugged by the way it feels (or lack of feeling I should say) when it is down. My husband uses Rogaine.Walmart brand for only 8 dollars a month supply andhe as had fantastic results. when you have a problem, you turn to the internet with thoughts of dread and despair. I read Bonnie’s comment saying that it is normal to experience more shedding when you first use the spironolactone because it is making room for new growth. I had regrowth and all was well. WHY – I am still trying to figure that out – as I say “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” ANYWAY, my scalp got so inflamed and crusty with dandruff and I had open sores on my scalp from the 5% stuff – I ALSO had crusty patches on my eyelids and below my eyes – so this 5% stuff can do some really nasty stuff (to SOME people) – it may work for you… ANYWAY, my point (sorry for the rant) – is YOU CAN NEVER get off this medication. (He’s a wonderful man and he’s ‘the one’ but…he’s still a human being…)I am plagued with all these questions and worries. When I turned 18 I felt like I lost all my femininity.
think that most women with androgenetic alopecia are I loooove the yaz because it seemed to help me drop some lbs, and I have NO periods at all!!! regrowth can take about a year or longer. To try just one first. Hoping to discuss spironolactone with my doc soon but have slight reservations. I use a combination of brown and red sprays for a pretty light reddish brown color. For those who have rosacea, note that it arises out of dysbiosis of the gut. As far as the restroom at night question, I’ve always gotten up at night to use restroom as far back as I can remember (2-3 times even) I’m a huge water drinker so that sort of comes along with it.
I think mine is due to my Mirena IUD because I have had it for 4 years and this is when the hair loss start but hey I dont know. I went through alot of breakdowns because I didn’t know what was going on.
