I stopped taking spiro in August 2016.
Patients should plan to start the medication at a time and place when urinary frequency can be accommodated. I am about to reach 4 months since stopping in a few days. My doctor reassured me that Spironolactone doesn't cause hair loss and recommended to continue the treatment. Then I get hair loss, middle-of-the-night screaming foot cramps, or stabbing heartburn. Btw, I shed a ton (like 300 in shower now), but I only wash my hair twice a week for my sanity so that could be why the extra strands lost, I dunno. I will go on Acutane again before I ever take another Spiro again.
