The required dose of Tetracycline depends on the disease you want to treat and the severity of the disease. Thank you for your encouraging post. I was prescribed doxycycline from Curology and took it for about month. The ones they usually prescribe for the skin (such as tetracycline which is what I'm on as well. What should I do?So the thing about antibiotics is just what you found out--they're temporary. I think I'll use them for half a month... And see if I notice any change. He prescribed me Tetracycline.

I've read online that you should eat yogurt to counterbalance the reduction of good bacteria in your stomach but I can't confirm that it works.Yeah I've read that it is only a temporary solution. And do you have any suggestions/ tips for someone who is a little skeptical of taking an antibiotic for acne such as I.Oh also, yes I have tried other options to clear my skin before this (clindamycin, tretinoin, benzoyl peroxide...). I didn't notice anything bad.Granted, this is still recent, but I also had those concerns.

Maybe things will clear up and it was just my body reacting to not having it anymore. It's very depressing, especially for having the cleanest and greatest looking skin I've literally ever had.I went back to the doctor and asked for another prescription, so he gave me another 1 month. I barely wear face makeup now and it's a fantastic feeling.I am now on day four of taking doxycycline. Already I can see an improvement. My skin cleared up so well. Back in November I had a sudden outbreak and it has never really left. It's magic.

If not, I'll stop. Not sure...New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castPress J to jump to the feed. Just... decent, and then it always goes back to hideous. Went to the doctor around Christmas time 2016 for something else and also asked about my acne. I'm 20, never dealt with such horrible acne. It seriously worksI agree, that's why I'm super skeptical about using antibiotics.. It's not as effective for me but the more effective one made me nearly throw up so not fun) work on a very small number of bacteria and are just used for a small number of things. Definitely take probiotics and avoid alcohol as much as possible... you won't know if it works for you until you try it. And yeah! I have moderate cystic acne and was prescribed the antibiotic doxycycline.

Unfortunately doctors don't like to prescribe antibiotics for long periods of time.My prescription is over and my face is back to hamburger meat. I take 50mg (rather than the 'standard' 100mg) because it still has the anti-inflammatory effects of doxy but minimises antibiotic resistance.TAKE A PROBIOTIC.

I'm still in my 20s so I think it is some kind of phase my body is going through.

Went to the doctor around Christmas time 2016 for something else and also asked about my acne. I believe it is caused by unbalanced hormones. The stuff works. Has that been true for any of you? But hormones can be balanced through diet and exercise. I asked about this when I was first prescribed them and that's what the doctor told me.I've read online (and not just the posts here) that people have been taking them for years with minimal issues, so I guess maybe I will end up down that path if the doctor prescribes them.I'm going to go for another week I think before I take the new batch of pills and see what happens. I'm glad doxycycline works for your mom.. That gives me hope.I took it. Vitamin C serum is packed with powerful ingredients to improve skin’s texture and brighten any discoloration caused by acne.

So there's less problems with prescribing them long term. Against acne, pimples and unclean skin, adults should take 250-500 mg of Tetracycline a day over several months – the correct amount should be determined by a doctor and Tetracycline should only be prescribed by a doctor.
