I take effexor xr for 150 mg For severe panic attack disorder it worked a while and then they added lamictol which is for epilepsy and it destroyed my panic attacks for 10 years until now. My therapist has told me seroquel will be short term but I honestly feel like shit constantly. and effexor helped with my depression when I took it but I had so much energy on it and had a hard time sleeping. It is also used as an adjunct therapy to and maintenance treatment with sodium valproate (NAVAL). According to my personal experience each time i take an AD the next mania becomes more horrible and longer (kindling effect).
Go lower! I actually find Seroquel really good. taking AD's is bloody controversial and no one view about it, people differ. I think I will pluck up the courage and try it this weekend have had the prescription sitting but I get so anxious about taking new things :-( good to know u have had success on it and no horror stories... thank u and I hope u get on ok with reducing ur Effexor xMumof2; Yes please listen to Carebear, As I HAVE said they don't do any good in the bottle and remember to take them or it right at bedtime when you are getting close to laying down we all react different but nothing wrong with this combination and as I have told you even at the lower dose when we first start it can hit harder than the next night so this weekend would be perfect. (I am very sensitive to meds and often require only pediatric dosage) Working our way up to 100-200 mg of Seroquel and then plan to decrease teh Effexor to 150 or possibly 75mg. - Yahoo.

Dr (psychiatrist) says Effexor is not good for anxiety, and that long I have worse effects than any benefit, and it just doesn't work.
I hassled it better when I had zopiclone at night but recently I feel neither tablet is having any good effect just negative. The thing is if you have BP will the seroquel be able to cover up for the strong effexor and you won't turn manic after a while.
