That is one of the reasons it works well in quitting smoking. So while I am fine with the smoking cessation I do have issues with the side-effects.
From what I hear, if you keep smoking through the bad effects, you'll eventually get used to it. It's been going since I started the medicine.I noticed it with the SR (purple? Unfortunately, I started smoking again several years later.I agree w/ the last two comments about the aggitation. So just a few days ago I decided to quit.

I took the low dose for about 2 months and about a month into it I didn't want to smoke anymore. Anyway it works, not depressed but boy am i aggitated! Wellbutrin made me "floaty" but I still went to work everyday at my full time office job. I have been on Wellbutrin for 2 weeks too and I too have noticed the last day or so that there's a weird taste in my mouth, particularly when I first get up in the morning.
I am having negative side effects, such as a dizzy, floaty feeling, but that seems to be lessening. I did not notice the aggitation, etc. Try searching for what you seek or The easiest way to lookup drug information, identify pills, check interactions and set up your own personal medication records.

I'm about 3 weeks in with the Wellbutrin and get that taste at least once a day.

The second day on it was almost bad for me, he'll experience a kind of spacey-ness, almost a detached feeling like floating. The worst thing is i feel tired as hell, but that isn't too bad, I can manage. By day 5 in the past at least I was done. I was a pack a day smoker ( who loves smoking) and I have seen results. First few days, in the morning, I has to ask my husband "did I make terrible coffee?" Both times I noticed I increased smoking from say 10 cigs a day to a full pack. I take Wellbutrin for depression (not my choice, I'm 18 but still live with my parents) and i smoked for about a year and a half. I know I will be done by day 5.I have been prescribed Wellbutrin to quit smoking after asking my dr because i've seen it work for my mom. When I run out of cigarettes I'm not gonna buy anymore and see what happens. I have been smoking off and on, when ever I can bum one. strange taste in the mouth, diarrhea, and ; seizures (especially at higher doses). And a lot of times I will light a cigarette, take a puff, and simply put it out. I honestly don't think its worth taking, find something else to help you quit. It lessens the pleasure a person gets from smoking. The program I am trying is Dr. OZ's Kick the Habit Plan As far as the comment about taking mind altering drugs to help you quit smoking... its worth it to me, and I dont have to stay on Wellbutrin long term.I too will be taking Wellbutrin/patch tomorrow.
